Philippians 1:6
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” You know that one person who is way too confident in themselves? Come on, if we are all honest, at least one name or face probably came to mind. :) However, this isn’t the type of confidence that the Scripture is talking about here. This verse doesn’t refer to us being confident in ourselves or those closest to us. We should never place any confidence in the flesh. “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing…” Romans 7:18 I’ve heard it said before, “We put more faith in FedEx to make a delivery than we do in God to do what He said.” How sad but true that often is! We have no doubt that the item we ordered will arrive at our door at its expected time and place; yet, we doubt whether or not God will supply the need we have. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 Is there some days that you forget that verse? Have you lost confidence that He is able to deliver exactly what you need? Thankfully, we can be confident in our Saviour & the work He alone has done in us and will do through us. Be confident today, Christian! “…then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28 Bible Reading: Genesis 21-22 | John 11 | Proverbs 11
