Psalm 119:12
“Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.” Do we desire to learn something from God’s Word each time we read? If our expectation is to not learn anything, that will surely be our result. We must be teachable, acknowledging that there is always something to learn from a passage or verse regardless of how well we think we already know It. We cannot learn until we recognize that we have something to learn. God desires us to ask Him to teach us. Prayerfully ask the Lord to show you something within His Word that you need for today. Psalm 27:11 “Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.” It is also important to make sure we are learning from the Right Source. There are many false teachers and preachers within our world today. Many of whom teach from the wrong “bible”. We are not helping, but rather hurting, ourselves if we do not learn from the correct Word. Psalm 86:11 “Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must open the Word with a teachable heart.
