Psalm 119:13
“With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.” The Lord gave us lips to form the mouths from which we speak. How are we using our lips? What do we declare on a daily basis? Out of the Lord’s mouth is the very Word of God that we hold in our hands. We are so unworthy of any part of Him, yet He chose to allow us to hold His Words with the hands He created. It has been said many times before, “If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.” Those truthful words can be valuable to encourage us to maintain our testimony for the Lord, however think of them in regards to God’s Word. If we do not know or understand the Scripture, then how can we speak about It? 1 Peter 3:15-16 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.” We read God’s Word faithfully, and always be prepared to speak Truthfully about what His Word says. We cannot speak His Word if we have not first listened to Him. In order for us to speak His Word, we must first listen to what the Lord has to say.
