January 14 - The Blessing Of Giving.

Proverbs 19:17
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
 
When we give out of love, we also receive something; therefore it truly is more blessed to give.
 
Proverbs 14:21
“He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.”
 
There is happiness in giving; especially when we have in mind to Whom we are really giving.
 
Matthew 25:40
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
 
When we give to those in need, we also give to Him.
This should cause us to want to give more so that He receives more from us.
 
There is also a heaping promise in giving; the more we give, the more we will receive.
 
Luke 6:38
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
 
The Ultimate Example of giving, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ spoke these Words. He gave everything for us; shall we not also do the same for Him?
