Psalm 119:15
“I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.” To meditate upon The Word is to contemplate, to ponder, to pray as you read. We show our devotion to God and His Word when we take time to meditate upon what He has given us to read. Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” The Word of God should consume our thoughts as we allow the Truth to be applied to our lives. We must have respect to the Holy Scriptures. They are not just some man’s words, but the Words of the very Almighty God. He preserved each Word so that we may have them today, and that alone should command our respect. Spend time with the Lord today as you meditate upon His Word. Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must take the time to meditate on what His Word has to say.
