Psalm 119:17
“Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.” The Psalmist asks God to deal bountifully with him for a purpose. He asks for grace and mercy for a reason…so that he may live and obey God’s Word. When was the last time we begged God for His grace and mercy? Psalm 119:124 “Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.” If we do ask for His grace and mercy, what is our purpose in asking? If we ask for our own benefit or for our own desires, we are deceived. We have the opportunity to ask for His grace and mercy boldly and with purpose. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” God bestows His grace and mercy upon us as an undeserving people so that we may follow Him. If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must ask Him to deal bountifully with us through His Word. Bible Reading: Genesis 33-34 | John 17 | Proverbs 17
