Psalm 119:22
“Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.” When we are weighed down by the actions of others, the Word of God can soothe our hurting soul and advise what is best for us. The Psalmist asked for reproach and contempt to be removed from him, or rolled off of his shoulders. He desired that the burden be transferred to Someone else. Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” God wants us to commit our burdens, if only we will roll them off of our shoulders and allow Him to carry them. He sometimes uses willing Christians to help bear the burdens of others. He may even want to use us to help someone else, if only we are willing to do so. Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” What is weighing you down today? Give it to the Lord and allow Him to carry it. Do you know of someone hurting today? Help them bear their burden. Someday they may need to help you carry yours. If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must remember that when we are weighed down by our burdens the Word of God has the answers. Bible Reading: Genesis 43-44 | Matthew 1 | Proverbs 22
