Proverbs 20:4
“The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.” If we use cooler temperatures outside as an excuse for our lack of service, it is truly the coldness of their heart that is the real reason. Our actions reveal far greater than our words. Matthew 15:8 “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” May we not allow the cold to keep us from sowing the Seed of the Gospel everywhere we go; otherwise, when Christ comes we will surely be empty-handed. We have the choice to plow now, or beg later. We have become a lazy people, always wanting a fast outcome or solution. The Christian life is not a sprint, but rather a marathon of walking for and with the Lord Jesus Christ. Seek His direction today. Pray that you would be fruitful instead of slothful. There are plenty of opportunities to reach others, if only we would take the time to plow the field before us. Matthew 9:37-38 “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” The Seeds that we do not plant will never bring forth fruit. The only unsuccessful Gospel witness is the one that is not given. His Word will never return void. Bible Reading: Genesis 45-46 | Matthew 2 | Proverbs 23
