Psalm 119:27
“Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.” May we desire to understand more and more the Scriptures we read each day; to know, apply, and walk within the Way of the Word of God. Hosea 14:9 “Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.” To understand the way of the Scriptures is to discern them by way of the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts as we read. John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” 1 Corinthians 2:13-14 “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” As we begin to understand the way, we can share the wonderful things we learn and experience as we fellowship with the Lord. It is by God’s grace that we may know of His wondrous works. Psalm 111:4 “He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must ask Him to guide us through His Word so that we may understand the way He would have us to go.
