January 5 - Purposeful Wisdom.

Proverbs 19:1-2
“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.”
 
No matter how poor we are, if our souls are complete in God, it is much better than being lost in foolishness.
 
Matthew 16:26
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
 
Our souls are thirsty for something that only our Creator can fulfill.
We long for Him because He made us in His image.
 
Genesis 1:27
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
 
The Creator of the universe made us for His glory.
He gave us the ability to know and love Him because He is our Creator.
Isaiah 43:7
“Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”
 
He called us. He formed us. He made us.
He has a purpose for each of us, which we can know if we will simply seek Him through His Word.
