Proverbs 19:8
“He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.” Our effort in getting wisdom determines how much Wisdom we apply to our lives. The more we understand and apply the Truth of God’s Word, the more good we will find. Psalm 19:7-11 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Get Wisdom. A simple command with immense promise, for with Wisdom lies more benefits than anything money can buy. Proverbs 4:5 “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.” Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 16:16 “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!” On the contrary, when we refuse to put forth the effort, we are sure to reap the consequences of a lack of Wisdom. Proverbs 15:32 “He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.” Each day, we choose how much effort we put into getting Wisdom. When we are not pursuing Him, we refuse Him. Bible Reading: Genesis 15-16 | John 8 | Proverbs 8
