Proverbs 11:30-31
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.” Many times the Bible refers to fruit as something that is reproduced as a result of something or someone else. In the Garden of Eden and just after the Flood, God spoke the same message to His people. Genesis 1:28 “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply…” Genesis 9:1 “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” The righteous possess Wisdom that can be shared without ever running out. When we give others the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we multiply what He has done within our hearts. When we win souls for Him, we are sharing Wisdom with others. Christ told of the Source of the fruit. John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Christ told us of our purpose. John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” Christ commissioned us to tell the world about Him. Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” A soul winner brings forth fruit for the glory of the Christ…fruit that remains.
