Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Helen Keller, who was blind and deaf, is known for having said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” If we have but little knowledge of the Word of God, we lack both vision and wisdom. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Our lack of Biblical knowledge is disastrous to our testimony for the Lord. We cannot apply what we do not know or understand. Today, most of the world has the Scriptures available to them, but there will come a day when there will be a famine of the Word of God. Amos 8:11-12 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” We must seek the Lord through the Word of God while there is still time for us to do so. Psalm 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.” Only when we make the Word a priority in our lives will we truly be happy. For it is then, and only then, that we will have vision for the days ahead. Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 31-32 | Philemon
