We cannot forget what we do not know.
The more we know of God’s Word the more of His Word we will want to know. Proverbs 3:1 “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:” The importance of knowing the Word cannot be overstated; however, more than knowing, we must apply the Truth of God’s Word to our hearts. “…but let thine heart…” What we allow our hearts to do determines our words and our actions. Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” When we live the way of the Scriptures, we will be ready to answer when asked about our faith. 2 Peter 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” We cannot give an answer if our hearts are not fixed upon the Wisdom of the Word.
