Proverbs 29:7
“The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.” We are to have compassion on those who have less than us. Psalm 41:1 “Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.” Many read these verses and immediately begin to mentally compare their wealth monetarily and materialistically to those around them. Yes, we should try to fulfill the physical needs of others when at all possible; however there is a far greater need that we must faithfully consider. Christ considered us in our poor estate and willing came to give His life as a ransom for us all. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” His sacrifice enables us become rich through Him. We are nothing without Him, yet when we choose to receive Him we have everything we need. He provided a Way when there was no way, and still today stands with open arms welcoming all who come to Him for salvation. 1 Samuel 17:29 “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” How often do we consider the poverty of those that are without Christ? May we do everything in our power to get the Good News of the Gospel to them before it is eternally too late. Bible Reading: Nehemiah 5-6 | Hebrews 5 | Proverbs 28
