2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
We can learn from the Lord instructions to Solomon. This verse reveals the steps we must take in order to see revival in our hearts and our country. There are conditions to God’s blessing on our lives and our land.
We Must Humble Ourselves.
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
We Must Pray.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
We Must Seek His Face.
1 Chronicles 16:11
“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”
“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.”
We Must Turn From Our Wicked Ways.
“Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
After He lays out the requirements for revival, the Lord shows what blessings we will receive through obeying His requests.
He Will Hear Us.
“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”
He Will Forgive Our Sin.
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
He Will Heal Our Land.
“Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.”
