June 1 - When God Does Something.

Psalm 119:152
“Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.”
 
David knew that every Word of God was True, and he had known this since he was a child. When God does something, it lasts forever; and His Word is no different.
 
Ecclesiastes 3:14
“I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.”
 
This is evidence of the eternal security of the believer found in the Old Testament. When God does something, it lasts forever. Those who have been saved at a young age must continue to follow what they have learned.
 
2 Timothy 3:14-15
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
 
The promise that God will never leave us nor forsake us is found in the fact that His Word will endure throughout all generations. God has preserved His Word so that all may know the Truth.
 
1 Peter 1:23-25
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must remember that when God does something, it lasts forever.
