Psalm 119:162
“I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.” Standing in awe of the Word of God often precedes rejoicing in the Scriptures. The more we reverence the Word, the more we will rejoice in the Truth. When we allow the presence and power of God’s Word to have It’s rightful place within our lives, we will be overcome with awe and with joy. Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts." We can rejoice while we read His Word. Nehemiah 8:8 “So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” We can rejoice while we hear His Word. Acts 11:28 “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” We can rejoice while we meditate upon His Word. Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” We can rejoice while we delight in His Word. Psalm 119:47 “And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.” The Word of God is an Exhaustible Resource for rejoicing. Psalm 40:16 “Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must rejoice at His Word.
