Esther 4:14
“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” When we venture into uncharted territory by faith, there inevitably comes a point where we must make another decision of whether to continue on or abandon the mission. Sometimes, what the Lord leads us to do goes against the rules. Esther told Mordecai it was unlawful for her to do what he suggested. Esther 4:11 “All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.” If she did what he asked, she would literally have to risk her life. Mordecai knew the danger before he charged her to go in unto the king. But he had faith that God would intervene somehow. Esther could hold her peace and miss the opportunity for God to use her to protect His people, or carry on in faith that He would direct and provide. “…who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” The time is now. We make choices throughout every day of whether or not we will allow the Lord to use us for His glory. Sometimes we yield to Him, and sometimes we miss out on what He had planned. Missing out may give us safety, but is it worth missing the rewards He has in store? The rewards that are not for a trophy shelf but are what we will cast at His feet. The rewards are not for us, they are for Him. Choose today to follow the Word of the Lord, and nothing else. Allow Him to direct your path. Yield to His direction, no matter where it may take you. Colossians 3:23-24 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” No task is too small or too great if it is for His glory.
