2 Samuel 22:19
“They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.” Sometimes, our unbelief keeps us in a place too long, which can lead to calamity. Calamity: an event causing great and often sudden damage or distress; a disaster. Have you ever had a calamity take place in your life? He knew where to turn in the days of his calamity. 2 Samuel 22:7 “In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.” The Lord heard him…and He answered. The Lord was his stay…He supported him. If you are in distress…call upon Him, and cry unto Him. He may not answer the way you want or expect, but He will do what He knows is best. His answer to David involved an earthquake, thunder, and lightning because of His wrath defending David. Perhaps the Lord wants to shake the very ground you walk each day. Instead of being fearful, rejoice that the Lord will fight the battle for you. 2 Samuel 22:20 “He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.” The Lord delivered him, because He delighted in him. There is such liberty on the other side of the Lord’s deliverance. He supported David in his darkest hour, as it seemed that everyone else had deserted him. When oppression overtook him, the Lord was his stay. He’ll do the same for you today. Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 11-12 | Colossians 2
