Proverbs 26:27
“Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.” This Truth can serve as both a warning and a comfort to us. Those that choose to dig a pit intended for others are sure to fall into it themselves. Psalm 7:15-16 “He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.” That which is purposed for the pain of others will cause more hurt to the planner. If someone chooses to dig a pit intended for us, we can take comfort that they will soon find themselves in one as well. Vengeance is not for us; we must allow the Lord to take care of the situation in whatever way He sees fit. Ecclesiastes 10:8 “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” Remember we reap what we sow. If we choose to dig a pit for others, we will end up in it ourselves. Ask Haman. Esther 7:10 “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.” Rather than find yourself in a pit, allow the Lord to take care of whatever situation you are dealing with today. Choose to exercise the Wisdom He has given you through His Word that protect and rescue us from the pits around us. Psalm 40:2 “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” Avoid the pits of foolishness by resting in the comfort that God has everything under control. Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” He is working everything for your good and His glory.
