“Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.”
When the wicked neglect the Word of God, they reject the God of the Word. Those that do not desire to know God do not desire to know the Scriptures.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
“Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.”
While the wicked reject God, He does not reject them. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
He welcomes all who come to Him with open arms; but they must first hear the Gospel before they can believe.
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
It is up to the righteous to proclaim the Word of God so that the wicked may hear and believe. How will they hear if we do not tell them?
“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must proclaim the Word so that others may hear and believe.
