Jeremiah 9:23-24
“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” What do you glory in? Some glory in their knowledge, some in their strength, some in their wealth, (and some in all of the above); yet the Lord says that we should not glory in any of these things. We are to glory in the fact that we know Him! We know His Lovingkindness. Psalm 143:8 “Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.” We know His Judgment. Psalm 119:75 “I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.” We know His Righteousness. Psalm 71:19 “Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!” Since our Lord delights in these things, should we not as His children seek to exercise them in our lives? Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Bible Reading: I Kings 7-8 | II Corinthians 6 | Psalm 125
