Proverbs 27:1
“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Wisdom is best used in only one tense. Past wisdom cannot be used today. Future wisdom has not yet been received. We have only today to use the Wisdom that God has given us. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” None of us are promised tomorrow. Delay may lead to denial. Today may be our last opportunity to fulfill the purpose that God has in store for us. Matthew 6:33-34 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Will we waste today looking back at what we should have done or looking forward to what we could do? Neither of these options is wise. James 4:13-15 “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” Although we should prepare for what God may have us to do tomorrow, we must live for Him today. There is no good reason to put off until tomorrow what God would have us to do today. Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19-20 | 2 Corinthians 7 | Proverbs 5
