Psalm 119:157
“Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.” David knew what it was like to have enemies. King Saul abused his authority over David, and much like today, many followed his example. Psalm 3:1-2 “LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.” Regardless of the persecution he faced, David never turned his back to the Law of the Lord. Instead, he chose to plead to Him for help! Psalm 3:3 “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” The Lord desires to shield us from our enemies as well. He only asks that we ask Him for help. We can choose today to not let anything move us from our walk with Him through His Word. Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” As we stand unmoveable, we must be busy about the Lord’s business. Our labour is not in vain if we allow Him to do the work through us! 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must be unmoveable in our walk in His Word. I always choose to do God’s will in my life. There is a time in my life that I don’t know what to do. I failed my major subject last semester and I am afraid to tell it to my parents. I don’t want to disappoint them. I realize that God is always there for me. I believe that the hands of the Lord is not too short to comfort us.
