March 10 - Stand Still.

Psalm 119:69
“The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.”
 
The best way to answer those who have something to say about us is by faithfully living our lives devoted to the Lord and His Word. Let our actions speak louder than their words.
 
When the Children of Israel murmured to Moses after he led them out of Egypt and into the wilderness, he responded with the Lord’s advice to both them and us today.
 
Exodus 14:13-14
“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
 
The Children of Israel saw no way for the Lord to intervene in their situation. The Lord then gave Moses the instructions for how He would fight for them, making a way where there was no way. He spoke the Answer to their problem.
 
Exodus 14:15-16
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
 
The Rod that Moses lifted up and stretched out over the sea in front of them was the Instrument that God used for the people to see the Lord’s power to deliver them. Today, we also have a Rod that God uses to speak to us and show us the Answer. The Word of God divides our problems, just as the waters of the Red Sea were divided that day.
 
Exodus 14:21
“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must stand still and allow Him to fight for us.
