Psalm 119:70
“Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.” Those whose “heart is as fat as grease” have only the things of this world in their view. God hates a carnal heart and mind. Romans 8:5-8 “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” When we mind the things of the flesh… We allow ourselves to become insensitive to the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:7-8 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.” We become ignorant to the sin in our lives. Ephesians 4:18-19 “Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.” Instead of allowing our hearts to be filled with the grease, we can choose the Word over the world. “…but I delight in thy law.” The Word within our hearts will create in us the desire to do what is pleasing to God. When He directs us, we cannot fail. Psalm 37:31 “The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must choose the Word of God over the world. I always choose God's word over the world. It's our duty to uphold God's word and keep them in our hearts. God has given us a chance to prove our worth, through our faith. If we keep doing good deeds and remain faithful with prayer, we'll be given an eternal paradise. If we choose God, we'll be living a life full of meaning.
