John 12:12-13
“On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” The Lord Jesus sat upon the colt that the disciples had fetched Him, and began to ride toward Jerusalem. As He came near the city, can you imagine what He saw? A multitude of people had created a path. The people’s clothes on the ground and palm tree branches were being waved. The people shouted “Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” The crowd shouted in an exclamation of adoration. They prepared a parade for His entry into Jerusalem. They had much respect for the Messiah. What about us today? Do we shout in adoration to Him? Do we prepare for His arrival in our church services? Do we prepare for Him to move in our lives? Do we respect the Saviour as the people did that day? Take some extra time to remember what this coming week means to you. Easter is not about the hiding of eggs or the receiving of candy. Teach your children the real reason for Easter. For Christ is the Reason for the Season.
