Psalm 119:84
“How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?” We have only a short time to serve the Lord, so we must use the time we have been given wisely. Job 14:1 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Oftentimes we put off until tomorrow what we could do today. We are not promised another day, so we must seek to do the Lord’s will while we can. Proverbs 27:1 “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” The blessings God has in store for us today are found within His Word. We do not know what tomorrow holds, so we must not let today slip by without seeking Him through the Scriptures. James 4:13-14 “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” Though we do not know what tomorrow will bring, we can choose to live for Christ and learn from God’s Word today. Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must prepare today to serve God tomorrow.
