Psalm 119:85
"The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.” Joseph found himself in a pit after his brothers left him for dead. They meant it for evil, but God had a purpose for his life. The Lord brought him up out of that pit and put him in prison. When most Christians would have questioned the Lord, Joseph kept the faith. He knew God had a plan to use his life for His glory. Genesis 50:20 "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” If you feel as if God has you in a pit today, rest assured that God has placed you there for a reason. Instead of giving in or giving up, stand still and allow the Lord to deliver you in His time, and in His way. Psalm 40:1-2 "I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” Allow the Lord to use this time for your good and His glory. We must trust Him to deliver us from the pits of our lives. Psalm 40:3-5 "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must allow Him to use the pits of our lives for His glory.
