Psalm 119:88
“Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.” Persecution can make us feel like the life has been taken out of us; but we can find renewed life each day through the Word of God. When we feel defeated, His Word revives us. When we feel empty, His Word sustains us. When we feel needy, His Word provides for us. His Word gives us life. John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” His Word gives us life through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” He wants us to know we have eternal life through Him. 1 John 5:11-13 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” He does all of this, because He loves us. Romans 5:1-5 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” God loves us so much He gave His Son to die for us, and He preserved His Word for us. He wants us to know we have life through His Son, and we can renew our minds each day through His Word. If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must find that His Word gives us life each day.
