May 10 - The Light Of The Word.

Psalm 119:130
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
 
God spoke the light that we see into existence because He is the Light.
 
Genesis 1:3
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”
 
The Word of God shines Light upon the darkness of hearts in need of salvation.
 
John 12:46
“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”
 
Just as God divided the light from the darkness of the world, He has separated us from the world and unto Him.
 
John 8:12
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
 
As we open the pages of Scriptures, the Light of Christ shines upon us through the work of the Holy Spirit. From the moment we read or hear the Word of God, Light shines upon our hearts.
 
2 Corinthians 4:6
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
 
2 Peter 1:19
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:”
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must allow the Light of the Word to shine brightly in and through our lives.
