Psalm 119:133
“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” We are more susceptible to giving in to the temptation we face when we neglect to spend time in the Scriptures. If we have sin in our lives, it creates a barrier between God and ourselves. Psalm 119:9 “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” God promises to order, or establish, our steps as we delight in Him. We cannot take a single step in the right way without His direction. Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” The Lord can only truly order our steps as we submit ourselves to seeking God’s will through His Word. Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” As He guides us by His Word, He exchanges our failures for His mercy and grace. Psalm 40:2 “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” Each step that we take by faith is an opportunity to give Him glory. Our pits can turn to palaces as we seek His direction. If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must allow each step of faith we take to be established by Him.
