Proverbs 25:25
“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” When we are tired and weary we need refreshment. Cold water refreshes down deep to our thirsty souls. Sometimes, we need spiritual and emotional refreshment just as much as a physical drink of cold water. Psalm 63:1-3 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.” Spiritual Refreshment When we are spiritually drained, there is only one Source of strength to which we can come. The Word of God is where we can renew our minds and find the help that we need. Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Emotional Refreshment God created a desire within us to hear good news from those we hold dear to our hearts. Especially when at a distance, hearing from a good friend brings comfort to a weary and thirsty soul. Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Whatever refreshment you are seeking today, there is thirst quenching Water available through the Word of God. He is the Water of Life, and when we come to Him we will never be turned away thirsty. Revelation 21:6 “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 27-28 | Romans 16 | Proverbs 13
