May 20 - Pure Words.

Psalm 119:140
“Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.”
 
In order for something to be considered pure, it must first be tried and refined. It is the object’s withstanding of the fire that enables it to be referred to as pure. The Word of God has been tried, refined, and purified by the fiery trials that have been thrown against It.
 
Psalm 12:6
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
 
The Scriptures withstand any persecution, because God’s Word endureth forever. The Word becomes our Shield against the wiles of the devil and enables us to stand and trust Him.
 
Proverbs 30:5
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
 
Our love for the Word of God is evidence of our love for the God of the Word. Prioritize the Word of God in your life today. May we allow the Scriptures to purify and cleanse our hearts. Draw nigh to God through His Word today.
 
James 4:8
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must make the Pure Words of God to be a priority in our lives.
