Psalm 119:146
“I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.” Sometimes when we sincerely plead unto the Lord it is for our own deliverance. Psalm 71:2 “Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.” It is important that we make obedience a priority, for without it our prayers will not be heard. Psalm 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” When our relationship with Him is right, His ears are open to our cry. Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” He was tempted in all points like as we are, yet He didn’t sin. He was touched with every infirmity that we could ever have, so He knows the feelings we experience. When we cry unto Him, we can therefore come boldly unto Him to obtain His mercy and find His grace. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must cry unto Him in our time of need.
