Psalm 119:124
“Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.” Though our eyes fail from waiting, the Word of God never changes. The more we are in the Word, the less the waiting will discourage us. When we are discouraged, His Word can encourage us through God’s mercy. Psalm 119:76-77 “Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.” God’s mercy endureth forever. Psalm 136:23-24 “Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.” God’s Word endureth forever. 1 Peter 1:24-25 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” There will never be a time where God’s mercy and Word are not available. It is by His mercy and through His Word that we can learn some lessons that enable us to be better servants for His glory. He is willing to teach us, if only we are willing to learn. Psalm 119:64 “The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must allow Him to teach us merciful lessons from His Word.
