Proverbs 14:20-24
“The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends. He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.” Much like the poor are often looked down upon, we as Christians are by the wicked world we live in. Though the world may view us as poor we are much richer than they, for our worth is found in Christ. If only they realized how rich we truly are, and that they too can find the same riches in Him. 2 Corinthians 8:9 “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” His riches are found because of His grace. Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” His riches provide everything we need. Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” His riches never run dry. Romans 11:33 “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” When you think you are poor, remember His riches. When you are weak, remember His riches. When you are discouraged, remember His riches. Rest in the riches of Wisdom today. Bible Reading: Jeremiah 39-40 | Colossians 4 | Proverbs 2
