Matthew 9:18
“While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.” She. She needed healing. Her father came to Jesus and fell at His feet in desperation. Mark 5:22-23 “And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.” Luke 8:41-42 “And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.” Jarius had faith that Jesus could help her. He asked Him to come to where she was. Matthew 9:19 “And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.” On the way, someone came and delivered news that she was dead. Mark 5:35 “While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?” Jesus spoke peace to her father’s heart. Mark 5:36 “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.” She arose when He touched her and spoke. Mark 5:41-42 “And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.” Jarius’ Daughter serves as an example of what can happen when we bring Jesus to others. Bible Reading: Ezekiel 31-32 | Mark 10 | Psalm 88-89
