November 24 - Defeat The Pride.

Proverbs 16:5
“Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.”
 
The Lord not only hates pride, but His Word tells us that those that are proud in their heart are an abomination unto Him.
We all deal with pride.
 
Galatians 5:17
“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
 
There is no way around it, because we are dwelling within the flesh.
The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life all originate from our sinful pride. These things are of the world, and we must strive to avoid them.
 
1 John 2:16
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
 
Pride has its consequences.
Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
 
Proverbs 16:6
“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
 
The Word of God is the only way to defeat the pride within us.
Jesus Christ showed us how powerful His Word is when He used it to defeat the devil when he tempted Christ.
 
Matthew 4:10
“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
When you struggle with pride, defeat it with the Wisdom of the Word of God.
