Psalm 116:15
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Losing someone we love is never easy. As difficult it is for us to understand, when the Lord calls one of His saints home to be with Him in Heaven it is a precious experience. Although we that remain here feel the loss and pain of no longer seeing our loved one, we can take comfort in the Blessed Hope that we have through our Lord Jesus Christ. “Those who are redeemed with precious blood are so dear to God that even their deaths are precious to him.” – The Treasury of David When a saint crosses over to the other side the burden of the flesh is removed, and joy that awaits them as they see their Saviour face to face. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our loved ones are not suffering anymore because they trusted in what Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary to give them a home in Heaven. Through our faith in Jesus’ sacrifice, God freed us from the sting of death; but not from death itself. Thank God we have the victory through Christ Jesus our Lord! 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The pain we feel when we lose someone we love is unbearable in our own strength, but God gives us the grace and strength to get through. How reassuring it is that to know Christ is to never have to truly say goodbye! What a precious reunion day awaits us! What a day that will be! Bible Reading: Isaiah 41-42 | Romans 14 | Psalm 63
