Proverbs 13:5-6
“A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.” We are kept by the righteousness of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. His righteousness within us enables us to remain “in the way” for He is the Way. Proverbs 13:7-8 “There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.” Having His righteousness also makes us partakers of His riches. When we give all we have to Him, He gives us more than we could ever imagine. Proverbs 13:9 “The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.” In His Sermon on the Mount, Christ declared that His children are the Light of the world. Having Him within us brings exceeding joy inwardly and allows us to shine bright outwardly for His glory. When we remember that we are sealed by His righteousness, and not our own, we can begin to make a difference in all that we do. Bible Reading: Jeremiah 5-6 | John 12 | Proverbs 16
