Proverbs 13:12
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” The higher we allow our hopes to fly, the greater the hurt if it is not the will of God for it to occur. It is better to wait for Him instead of taking matters into our own hands or giving the devil an opportunity to distract and depress us. Psalm 62:5 “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” His thoughts are higher than ours, and our timing rarely matches His. Mary and Martha thought all hope was gone when Christ arrived what appeared to be four days late. Instead, He turned their sorrow into joy when He raised their brother from the dead in His timing. Make Him your Hope today, for He knows what’s best. Wait in faith that He is working His will for your life, and when He asks you to take a step…follow Him. We can have hope, because He hears our prayers. Psalm 38:15 “For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.” We can have hope, because His Word is True. Psalm 119:81 “My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.” When our expectations are based upon the Word of God, we will never be disappointed. Psalm 39:7 “And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.” Bible Reading: Jeremiah 11-12 | John 15 | Proverbs 19
