October 2 - A Wise Desire.

​Proverbs 11:21
“Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.”

Unity does not displace justice and judgment. Though many be wicked, wrong is wrong. Just a seed of righteousness can make a difference.

Proverbs 11:22
“As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.”

Just as jewels are not intended for the snouts of pigs, a woman without discretion is unwise.

Proverbs 11:23
“The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.”

As we delight in the Lord, our desires begin to change according to His will for our lives. The wicked have no delight, and will inevitably face the wrath of God unless they repent of their sin.

Proverbs 11:24
“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

The secret of giving wisely is found when we realize the more we give, the more abundantly our needs will be met. When we lose all that we have for Christ, we will find all we could ever need; yet when we refuse to sacrifice for Him, we will find ourselves empty handed.

Delighting in the Lord develops a wise desire to give our lives to Him.
