Proverbs 13:13
“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” At the root of every problem we see around us is a lack of fear and reverence for the Word of God. Those that reject the Word will be destroyed. As sad and depressing as that sounds, it is still true. Every person born into this world has one choice, to receive or reject the Word. John 1:1,14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” The Word was with God at the creation of the earth, because He was and is God. Jesus came to dwell among His creation so that we could have the opportunity to behold His glory. He came and died, so that each of us could know Him personally and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” When we reject the Word of God, we reject Jesus. When we give the Gospel to someone, and they choose to reject the Truth of His Word, they are not rejecting us…they are rejecting Him. One day every knee shall bow at His feet and proclaim that Christ was in fact Who He said He was. Those that received Him will be rewarded with a home in Heaven forever in His presence. We will also be rewarded for what we did for Him while we had the opportunity. Give the Gospel to someone today. Explain to them that they have a choice to make, to receive or reject the Word. Their eternity depends on us telling them about Him. Bible Reading: Jeremiah 13-14 | John 16 | Proverbs 20
