Proverbs 14:1
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.” What we build upon is of great importance to the testimony of our lives. Jesus Christ taught this Truth at the end of His Sermon on the Mount. After all of the life changing things He told the people, He saved this parable for last. He begins with the reminder that Wisdom begins by hearing His Word. Matthew 7:24-25 “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” When we hear the Word of God and build our lives upon the Rock of Ages, we are secure in Him despite the storms. On the contrast, those who reject and neglect His Word will live in foolishness. Their lives like a house built upon the sand, which cannot withstand the same storm that the wise survive. The Wisdom of the Word makes the difference. Matthew 7:26-27 “And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” We have the choice today of what we will build our lives upon – the wisdom of the world or the Wisdom of the Word. Live so that others will see that your life is built by Wisdom. Bible Reading: Jeremiah 23-24 | John 21 | Proverbs 25
