Psalm 119:19
“I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.” The closer we are to God, the more uncomfortable we should feel in this world. People should look at us strange and realize that there is something different about us. If they do not see a difference in us, then we are living like them. God calls us to not only be different, but to even be peculiar. There should be something distinguishable about God’s children. 1 Peter 2:9-10 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” How does the world view us? Do they think we there is something strange about us? Do we stand out or do we blend in? We as God’s people are called to let our Light shine into the darkness of this world. Philippians 2:15-16 “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” May we shine our Light by proclaiming the Word of Life in our daily lives! Those in darkness cannot see their sin without the Light of the Gospel being shone on their hearts. As strangers in this world, may we continue to hold forth the Word of Truth so that others may come to know Him. Bible Reading: Isaiah 51-52 | Proverbs 19
