October 7 - Discouragement.

Deuteronomy 1:21
“Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.”
 
Discouragement is nothing but a tool of the devil. He discourages us so that we will be distracted from our God given purpose, which makes us less effective in what God has called us to do for Him. The devil knows what discourages us, and he also knows how to use people to accomplish just that. Resist him today, and drive the discouragement away.
 
James 4:7
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
 
We can be encouraged because the Lord is with us wherever we go, whatever we do, whomever we are with. We have no reason to be discouraged or afraid with Him by our side!
 
Joshua 1:9
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
 
Resist the discourager. Be strong because the Lord is on your side!
Discouragement does not have to get you down today.
