Proverbs 12:15-16
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.” When we rely on our opinion of ourselves through our own eyes, we become as fools. The importance of Biblical counsel cannot be understated. God gives us people to help guide us in the way He desires us to go. We must surround ourselves with people who point us to Him through His Word. Proverbs 12:17-19 “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.” We need people in our lives who will speak the Truth to us. The Wisdom of the Word of God must be in the vocabulary of anyone we call our friend. Do you speak the Truth to your friends? A true friend points you to the Word of God. Evaluate the influence of the people you have in your life. Seek to both speak and live by the Truth of the Word of God. Bible Reading: Isaiah 57-58 | John 5 | Proverbs 9
