“A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.”
We see here a glimpse of the opposite of wisdom. The foolish are rarely quiet, and often try to disguise their lack of knowledge with noise.
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,”
The foolish possess no fear of the Lord, but rather refuse the Truth of Wisdom and any instruction contrary to that which they believe to be true.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
When Wisdom is rejected, the foolish often are found enticing others to be like them. They desire to understand, but are unable to do so when looking in all the wrong places.
“For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, To call passengers who go right on their ways: Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.”
Religion is empty without the Person of Wisdom, the Lord Jesus Christ. The God of this world has blinded the eyes of many foolish people who only have religion and no relationship with Him. Modern day religion may be sweet and pleasant for a season, but will send the religious deceived into the depths of hell.
We must proclaim the Truth of the Gospel to anyone and everyone. Share the Wisdom of the Word to those around you today.
